Culinary specialties of Arras

A stay in Arras also means discovering a rich and authentic gastronomic heritage.

From recipes inherited from the Middle Ages to sweet treats and distinctive cheeses, the city reveals a unique culinary identity to savor as you wander its streets.

During your stay at our hotel in Arras, let yourself be tempted by these gourmet delights!

Arras Andouillette

A Deeply Rooted Tradition

An iconic specialty of the region, Arras andouillette is the product of an ancient know-how dating back to the Middle Ages.

Made with pork or veal sweetbreads, it is carefully crafted by local charcutiers.

Its bold and authentic flavor makes it a must-try of regional cuisine, celebrated every year during the Andouillette Festival in August.

The Rat of Arras

A Historical Delicacy

Don't be fooled by its surprising name: the Rat of Arras is a delicious sweet treat made with dark chocolate and praline feuilleté.

This playful nod to the past is inspired by the rat, the city's historical symbol.

Now available in chocolate, it's perfect for enjoying during a stroll through the city center, offering a sweet break that's as original as it is delicious.

The Hearts of Arras©

Between Tradition and Creativity

The Hearts of Arras© come in several varieties, each reflecting a facet of the local terroir.

The oldest is a honey gingerbread biscuit, created at the end of the 17th century.

Alongside this, there's a cheese version, similar to Maroilles cheese, with a strong character, as well as versions in dark or milk chocolate.

Three interpretations of the same specialty, to satisfy every craving!

Le P’tit Dieu

A cheese with character

A soft, washed-rind cheese, Le P’tit Dieu is handcrafted from raw milk. It is prized for its distinctive flavor and authenticity.

Its name, steeped in local history, adds to its charm and makes it a typical Arras specialty, a must-try for lovers of characterful cheeses.

Le Mascaron

A sweet treat inspired by heritage

A small marzipan confection, Le Mascaron pays homage to the famous sculpted figures that adorn the architecture of Arras.

Both aesthetically pleasing and delicious, this specialty is best enjoyed while strolling through the city's iconic squares, particularly the Place des Héros.
